Vaulted Oak Brewing

Renovation, Restaurant/Retail

The Vision

Vaulted Oak Brewing founder, Kiel Arrington, had a vision to create his facility in a former bank building that sits on the edge of the Oakhurst neighborhood in Charlotte — where breweries up to this point have been nonexistent.  The vision for the project was to transform the former bank footprint into a cool tap room and brew house while also incorporating key fixtures from the bank as design elements in the new space.

The vision for Vaulted Oak is to be more than just another brewery in Charlotte. Living in the area and seeing how other parts of Charlotte have grown so rapidly made it even more important to the owner to really help shape the Oakhurst neighborhood as it continues to grow.

The Project

Vaulted Oak Brewery is in the rapidly growing Oakhurst area of Charlotte NC.  The 4,605-square-feet of space, has indoor and outdoor seating, an L-shaped bar, and a 15 Barrel brewing system. The former bank footprint was transformed into a cool brewery and taproom space.  The former bank teller windows became a walk-up window for patrons. The former drive-thru now serves as outdoor patio space, and of course, the vault door plays a critical role in the décor of the new space, as well as the pneumatic tubes.

The Grand Opening

The former bank building now contains Vaulted Oak Brewing, where they operate a 7-barrel system with a variety of fermenting options for their rotating lineup of beers.   The Grand Opening will be in early June of 2021. Vaulted Oak Brewing is sure to become an integral part of the Oakhurst community.
