The Jimmy

Renovation, Restaurant/Retail

The Vision

The Jimmy, is a Mediterranean-inspired restaurant in Charlotte’s Myers Park neighborhood. The restaurant, created by Noble Food & Pursuits under owner and executive chef Jim Noble, is designed to offer diners pasta or pizza as if they ducked into a café along the Mediterranean coastlines of Italy and France.

The Project

The Jimmy is in a roughly 3,600-square-foot space at Selwyn Corners. It was formerly Nolen Kitchen and has been vacant since November 2017. The Doerre team transformed the space by completely rebuilding the kitchen and opening it up to the dining room.  The dining room lighting and décor were completely redone in a light and airy vibe with cream-colored brick, floor-to-ceiling windows, lots of light wood with pops of color, from seat cushions to the bar’s tile backdrop.  Our team coordinated with Kerf & Burled of Greensboro who is behind the custom woodwork, which includes handcrafted tables, the bar top, curved molding around the open kitchen and the ceiling “clouds.”  We also created a unique  outdoor dining space by constructing a new louvered pergola system over the exiting patio.  The system can be completely open air in the warmer months and can also be enclosed/heated in the cooler months.

The Grand Opening

The Jimmy opened to rave reviews in late June of 2021.  This marks the seventh restaurant for chef Jim Noble. He also operates Rooster’s and Copain in SouthPark and The King’s Kitchen and Rooster’s in uptown. In 2019, Noble Smoke and Bossy Beulah’s opened on Freedom Drive.  The Doerre team is truly honored and humbled to have had the opportunity to work on such great projects with such amazing people.
