Devil’s Logic Brewing
The Vision
Devil’s Logic Brewing founders, Greg Grueneich and Brian Wallace, had a vision to create their facility in a building built in 1926 that sits on the edge of Cherry and Elizabeth neighborhoods in Charlotte — where breweries up to this point have been nonexistent. The former American Billiards retailer snakes around a Domino’s and a textbook shop at 1426 E. 4th St.
The Project
The project was a total renovation of the existing 10,000 square-foot building formerly occupied by a billiards equipment supplier called American Billiards. The brewery will feature lots of different types of good beer, but the ultimate focus is on the 85-seat taproom experience. There are two outdoor patios, one elevated and with a clear view of uptown during nice weather. There is also an event space that holds 65 people and has a projector with the ability to run video conferencing. In the brew house there is a 15 barrel system.

The Grand Opening
The building now contains Devil’s Logic Brewing, where they operate a 15-barrel, three-vessel system with a variety of fermenting options for their “clean, crushable beers”. The kitchen serves up unique gastro-pub style food and Devil’s Logic Brewing is now an integral part of the Elizabeth community.
